Our board is seeking Associate Members who are passionate about conservation to support our mission of conserving soil, improving water quality, and enhancing water quantity in Marion County, Florida. 

Associate Members play a critical role in advancing our conservation initiatives and shaping the future of our community.

 

Meet one criteria to serve as a Board Supervisor.

Criteria does not need to be met for Associate Members, but if a vacancy becomes available Associate Members can become a Board Supervisor by appointment.

  • Currently engaged in agriculture or retired with ten years engagement in agriculture.
  • Employed by an agricultural producer or employed on agricultural land.
  • Own or lease agricultural land.

  • What do Associate Members do? Associate Members support the board by attending meetings, providing input on local conservation issues, and helping to guide district decisions. 
  • What is the time commitment of being a member? At a minimum, members must attend the hour-long monthly board meetings, but opportunities to be more involved are available for those who are interested.
  • How often does the board meet? The second Monday of every month.
